1 2 3 4 Player Games

FAQ

Everything people usually ask about the app. If yours isn't here, send it over.

How many people can play on one phone?

Up to four. Two players take opposite ends of the screen, three or four take a corner each, and the game rearranges itself for however many seats you pick before the round starts. A phone works for two comfortably and four at a squeeze — a tablet is better for four.

Which games are included?

Seven: Tanks Fight, Dino Run, Cars Racing, Fish Catch, Catch the Pigeon, Sumo Wrestling and Alien Pong. You pick one from the menu and switch whenever you like — they are all in the same app, with nothing extra to download.

Can I play on my own?

Yes. Several of the games will fill the empty seats with bots, so you can play against the computer rather than an empty corner. Catch the Pigeon is scored solo as well — it is you against the clock.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Everyone playing is already in the same room, so there is nothing to connect to — no matchmaking, no lobby code, no account. The whole app runs on the device it is installed on, which means it works in airplane mode, on a plane, and in places with no signal.

How do the controls work?

Each player gets one button in their corner of the screen. That single tap does everything the game needs — accelerate, jump, shoot, shove — so nobody has to be taught the controls. It is the reason the app works when you hand it to someone who has never seen it before.

What is tournament mode?

It plays several of the mini games in a row and keeps a running score across all of them, so the winner is whoever did best overall rather than whoever won the last round. It is the better way to play if you have more than a few minutes.

Is it free? Are there ads?

It is free to download and play on both stores, and every game is available from the start. It is supported by ads between rounds.

Does it work on a tablet?

Yes, and four-player games are noticeably better on one — everyone gets a real corner to reach instead of sharing a phone-sized screen. It works on iPad and on Android tablets.

Is it suitable for kids?

Yes. The games are cartoon-styled with no realistic violence, there is no chat and no way to contact other people through the app, and no reading is required to play — a tap is the whole interface.

Will more games be added?

Yes. New mini games arrive as ordinary app updates, so they appear in the menu without you needing to install anything new. The line-up has grown steadily since the app launched.

Is the App Store version the same as the Google Play one?

They are the same app and the same games. The two store listings carry different titles — Party Games: 4 Player Games on the App Store and Offline 1 2 3 4 Player Games on Google Play — which is a search-listing difference, not a difference in what you install.
